Empowering Girls,

Climate Change

Climate change is a major threat to the planet, and its impacts are already being felt around the world. Women and girls are particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, due to their social, economic, and political marginalization. Climate change impacts women and girls differently than men and boys in a number of ways. Additionally, women are more likely to be displaced by climate change, and they are more likely to experience food insecurity and malnutrition.

Alimat Care Foundation’s Climate change interventions are tailored to meet the specific needs of women and girls ensuring that such interventions do not exacerbate existing inequalities. By involving women and girls in decision-making processes related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, we ensure that their peculiar needs, concerns and perspectives are considered, and that women and girls are able to cope with the effects of climate change and build a more sustainable and equitable future.
