Empowering Girls,

PROTECTION

First Session pix 12

Gender-based violence (GBV) and harmful practices are serious human rights violations that disproportionately affect women and girls. They can have a devastating impact on physical and mental health, well-being, and life opportunities. Protection against GBV and harmful practices such as early forced marriage is essential for creating a more just and equitable world and a core component of our work. We recognize the importance of a girl’s physical and psychological and mental well-being in achieving her full potential. ACF works to improve access to SGBV prevention and response services especially in rural and hard-to-reach communities, while advocating for laws and policies that protect women and girls’ right, ensure their safety in schools, homes and in the community.
